Shingada Sheera (Water Chestnut Sheera)

A quick, wholesome dessert made using Shingada (Water Chestnut) flour—perfect for fasting days or as a healthy sweet treat. This sheera is not only nutritious but also comes together in just 10 minutes!

Ingredients:

  1. Shingada (Water Chestnut) Flour – 2 tablespoons

  2. Ghee (Clarified Butter) – 2 teaspoons

  3. Milk – 1½ cups

  4. Sugar or Jaggery Powder – 3 tablespoons (adjust to taste)

  5. Cardamom Powder – 2 teaspoons

  6. Dry Fruit/Nut Powder – 1 tablespoon

  7. Raisins (optional) – as needed

  8. Chopped Cashews and Almonds – for garnish

Method (Ready in 10 Minutes):

  1. Heat a pan on low flame. Add ghee and Shingada flour. Roast the flour in the ghee for 2–3 minutes until it changes color and gives a nutty aroma.

  2. Add milk slowly while stirring continuously to prevent lumps. Then mix in cardamom powder, dry fruit powder, and raisins (optional).

  3. Let the mixture cook for 1 minute until the milk is mostly absorbed. Add jaggery powder (or grated jaggery) and stir well.

  4. Cover with a lid and cook on low flame for 1 more minute, allowing the jaggery to melt and blend completely.

  5. Turn off the heat. Your quick and healthy Shingada Sheera is ready!

Serving Tip:

Garnish with chopped cashews and almonds. Serve warm for the best taste.

Health Note:
